I’ve been locked out of my gmail account at least once a day for the past 7 days. Apparently, there were quite a few of us with the same problem, and Google’s tech support was of no help. So, this was solved by community. Thanks to this Google Group, I found that my SoThink swf extension is not playing nice with Firefox 2.0.0.6. Just making another space on the web for someone to find an answer to this frustrating problem.
Same here, We have several GMail email addresses. Just checking the spam folder via Gmail web and it locks us down on each and every Gmail account.
First it took 10 minutes to move 6 spam emails which were not spam. Need to rethink the whole GMAIL farce.
…so you’re not using the SoThink add-on? Since I removed it I’ve been fine. And, SoThink actually released an update, I re-installed and have had no problems.
I would like to see a continuation of the topic
i get this same thing . i use google toolbar with FF , could it be the reason ?
i used picasa to upload images , does that annoy gmail ?
this is totally insane , now i am thinking about switching to microsoft emails .
The best thing to do would be run Firefox in safe mode and then enable your add-ons one at a time, each time checking to see if the gmail issue gets resolved.
I started receiving this problem today completely out of the blue. What is even stranger is that my account seems to lock and unlock every few minutes for no apparent reason. I was using the GMAIL web interface on Firefox 3 Beta 5 on a fresh Ubuntu 8.0.4 install (not a single plug-in installed). What’s killing me is I have made the transition to using GMail as the email interface for ALL of my email accounts. The only thing which might be a bit excessive is that I also had about 9 documents open inside Google Apps, but there is absolutely no reference to this on Google Groups. Any ideas?
Rob,
I use Gmail as my primary interface for my accounts as well. The only guess (which I am sure you considered)is that it doesn’t play nice with the FF Beta. I’d load FF2 on and see if it changes. I haven’t had any hands on experience with Linux (except Knoppix) so I’m of no use there, sorry. I’d also try running the Beta in safe mode and see if it changes anything.
thank you
i face the same problem and wait them to open my mail again
