Why Do Companies Like Adobe Still Use Disks For Software?

12.06.08 | 1 Comment

Six gigs of application data is too much information to have read off of a disk. CD/DVD drives are garbage, and tend to be pretty noisy. How about you use a very small portion of that very large fee that CS4 costs, and ship the entire suite on an 8gb micro drive. I’d be willing to pay the extra $10-$15 it costs for the device (considering how much you have to pay) and when it’s over, we have an Adobe branded device that will be taken with us for future use. Better than any sticker (a la Apple) that you could include with your products from a marketing point of view.

Stop using discs, start using USB drives. It is the future…for a little while at least.
